MY EXPERIENCE

Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new and I have grown leaps and bounds from when I started developing… and I want to continue to learn more, to take on new things and achieve new challenges. The day I stop wanting to learn is the day I need to find a new career.

Years ago, I decided I wanted to be the guy who could build websites and write programs. My journey to becoming a developer started when I enrolled at ITT Technical Institute. I was always curious to know how programs and applications were made. After two years of hard work I graduated with honors and earned an Associate of Applied Science in Software Development Technology degree.

Shortly after graduation I was hired by Thoughtwire Media, a digital marketing company headquartered in Mansfield, Ohio. My initial post was “customer support representative” for our web hosting division. It wasn't long before I was given the opportunity to do a couple web updates for our clients. Within weeks I was doing every update as well as certain tasks on development projects. Because of the broad scope of my work, I have been exposed to multiple languages and frameworks. At the beginning of 2014, I was promoted to the Search Engine Optimization team, where I currently do on-site technical SEO.

Because technology was only continuing to evolve, I decided to go back to school to earn my bachelor’s degree. After two and half years, and a lot of hard work I graduated with a degree in Computer Information Systems from DeVry University.
